The Parsonage Bed & Breakfast - spanking new website
Posted by David Hurst in HigherSites®, New Launches on February 14th, 2008
Whenever I decide to spend a few nights away with the family, the first thing I do is search online for some nice accommodation. Every time I am stunned by the overwhelming amounts of shoddy websites in the hospitality and tourism industries. So, when we got the opportunity to work with The Parsonage Bed & Breakfast of Muchelney, Somerset, on their new website, I was particularly eager to make sure the web development team at Higher Sites got it right.
Whilst it is a fairly basic website, I think the end result is particularly fine and stands The Parsonage head and shoulders above 99% of their competition. Have a look at the website at: www.parsonagesomerset.co.uk.
Bodysigner - body shaping underwear for ladyfolk
Posted by David Hurst in HigherSites®, New Launches on February 7th, 2008
We just finished producing an e-commerce website for Bodysigner - an American brand being introduced to the UK. It was a task to tie it all together: a client in Mexico, a fulfillment house in London and a call centre in South Africa, all of whom need to share the data. And… we had to build it from scratch in under 3 weeks! Challenges? We love them at Higher Sites!
Bodysigner make body shaping corsets, thongs and bikinis that can make the wearer appear 2 sizes smaller! Pretty amazing stuff.

Debian Linux server farm - email server with Postfix/MySQL
Posted by David Hurst in Hardware, HigherSites®, New Launches, News, Technology on June 6th, 2007
We’ve really taken a giant leap forward in our hosting services from Higher Sites with the introduction of a new server farm. It’s been 6 months in the planning and testing phase, and on the 1st June the servers were installed into a datacentre in Manchester where we have rented a cabinet. Suffice to say our hosting expenses have risen considerably, but the ability to offer a completely customised hosting solution is worth the extra £££. Read the rest of this entry »
Finally…!!!
Posted by David Hurst in HigherSites®, New Launches, News on January 4th, 2007
We have finally finished the new Higher Sites website. When I say finished, I mean we got it to the state where it could go live - there is much still to add in. It’s amazing how difficult it is to find time to do your own site, especially when you are spending so much time building sites for clients - I guess potential customers should be nervous if they ever come across a web developer with a really good website!
Anyway, please take a look: www.highersites.co.uk.
