That's the geniuses behind SORBS. They believe that no legitimate mail server would ever work on a dynamic IP address.

Ignorant tossers!

What about all the small businesses that have ADSL with dynamically assigned IP and a Windows Small Business Server? These guys don't need a static IP because they are usually only sending mail direct from the server, and use the POP connector to collect mail.

And, as you correctly point out, SORBS are notorious for incorrectly identifying static IP blocks as dynamic. Do they accept their error and remove the addresses? No.

Most ISPs I deal with no longer use SORBS at all.

Couldn't agree more. Just got a number of complaints from users who have been getting bounced emails because SORBS incorrectly flagged my whole netblock as dynamic over the weekend. This happened last year as well. Unbelievable.

I agree. They are arrogant twits. I too have been blacklisted because my web/mail server is
commercially hosted and has been deemed by SORBS to be a spam server.
Draconian, fascist, twits.
