Everyone will be talking about it, and if you didn’t see it, Martin Taylor completely mis-timed a tackle and went in studs-showing on Eduardo during Arsenal’s match with Birmingham today. Poor Eduardo’s leg completely snapped – tibia and fibula by the look of it. Well, let’s face it, his foot was hanging off.Most of his teammates looked physically ill, and I have some idea of how they feel after BBC showed the replay in all its gruesome detail on the late night showing of Match of the Day.

I broke my leg when I was 14 – a clean break across the fibula that took an operation to fix, and 3 days in hospital. It hurt like hell, but it was a mere scratch compared to Eduardo’s broken leg. I cannot imagine he will be playing football again any time soon. Arsenal have yet to announce the extent of his injury, but he definitely won’t be playing again this season, or at the European Championships. A big loss to Arsenal and Croatia.
